| Description: | Collins Home provides a Christ-centered home for children between the ages of 5 - 18 who are in need of a stronger family support system. Our goal is the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development of our children, and the eventual reunification with their natural families whenever possible. |
| Director Name: | Tina Justice |
| Enroll Info: | The majority of the children served in our residential program are from the Upstate of South Carolina. However, we serve the entire State of South Carolina, while a few private placements come from out of state Our children come from all different walks of life and circumstances. We receive referrals from parents who desire to place their children here directly, family members who have assumed responsibility for minor relatives, therapists in the community, clergy, school guidance counselors, medical professionals, Department of Social Services, etc. An application must be completed after a determination has been made that the child meets Collins Home’s admission requirements (see Admission Requirements Page). After completing the Application, the Collins Home staff will review all pertinent information, interview the child and appropriate referring adult(s), and then determine if we can help the child and establish a treatment plan. |
| Student Profile: | The children in our residential program range from ages 5-18. Our admission requirements include a minimum age of 5(*) and a maximum age of 16 for initial enrollment. For the most part, our children come due to a family crisis. Our focus is to ensure that our children have a safe and secure environment in which they can grow and thrive. We do not accept children that have been adjudicated, known to have drug involvement or sex offenders. (*) We will make exceptions in order to keep siblings together. |
| Academics: | Emphasis is placed on the child's maximum effort regarding education. Tutorial assistance is provided as needed. |
| Activities: | We also encourage each child to develop her individual talents. Believing that these children deserve the same opportunities as others, we are their advocate. We know that they can rise above their circumstances and become productive leaders and citizens, to do their part to ease the sufferings of others in the future. |
| Campus: | Collins Home provides residential care for up to sixteen children at a time. In addition, hundreds of children and families are cared for in our Family Outreach Program each year. |
| Philosophy: | Children are our first priority Collins Home and Family Ministries began as a ministry to rescue children from painful situations and to provide a safe, loving, nurturing environment where they can learn, grow and thrive. Over the years, we have been blessed to care for hundreds of children, creating for them a home environment where they are part of an extended family in a community that cares for and supports them. |
| Financial Assistance: | Collins Home & Family Ministries is a 501(c)3 organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. |
