| Enroll Info: | Students must be able and willing to accept the responsibility of community living in a rustic environment. All prospective students are required to visit the school for two days, preferably during the school year, in order to experience for themselves what life is like at AMS |
| Student Profile: | Many students come from families who share our values and lifestyle. Others have been homeschooled, but now desire a more social environment. Some have been unhappy at their local school for social or academic reasons. Some are drawn to our warm family atmosphere because of difficulties at home. Most, however, simply want to experience this unique learning opportunity. |
| Academics: | Our curriculum standards meet the North Carolina guidelines for independent schools. The academic program includes integrated studies, mathematics, personal growth, and electives and apprenticeships |
| Activities: | Photography, music, drama, dance, ceramics, glass blowing, languages, wood and metal working.Because AMS has no televisions, students learn to entertain themselves and each other. Leisure activities include skateboarding, reading, art, playing and listening to music, and playing games. Special Saturday night activities, such as talent shows, dances or the attendance of performances, are organized by the students. |

| Specialties: | Elizabeth Morgan believed that adolescence is an especially crucial time in a child's development. She founded the Arthur Morgan School in 1962 to provide a learning environment tailored for teenagers. Diet is largely vegetarian, with an emphasis on fresh whole foods, organic produce from our own garden, and natural sweets. |
