Description:School is an educational boarding school for students with learning differences -- children who have had difficulties meeting with success in a traditional classroom.

Enroll Info:Enrollment year round. Vegetarian diet program. Their enrollment generally ranges from 25-30 students each school year.
Student Profile:Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and/or related conditions. Experienced significant social or behavioral difficulties due to educational failures, hyperactivity, or other circumstances.
Academics:Licensed by the New Hampshire Department of Education to provide traditional and special education for students Kindergarten through Eighth grade.
Activities:Hiking and off-campus horseback riding trails, wildlife preserves, and an organic garden and orchard. Wilderness experiences such as camping, snow-shoeing; and athletic experiences such as skiing, swimming, skating.
Counseling:Individual and group therapy
Campus:Buildings include three family-style residences and a modern school house. Family-style living arrangement .
Family Involvement:2 phone calls per week. Emails. Open door policy.
Length of Stay: 2 - 3 years
Philosophy:We believe that ADD/ADHD is a naturally inherited set of perceptual abilities which, when properly adapted and focused, are assets rather than disabilities. Our philosophy comes from Thom Hartmann's book: ADD: A Different Perception. Mr. Hartmann is the founder and President of the Hunter School Board of Directors.

Specialties:The Hunter School began accepting students in August of 1998. The Hunter School is approved as a private special education and non-public school by the State of New Hampshire's Department of Education. Our dormitory is licensed as well. Summer Program Tuition : $ 4,500.00 Room & Board : $ 3,000.00 Student Account : $ 500.00 Total : $ 8,000.00
