| Academics: | Provides an excellent education through an accredited private school with small class size, academic plans tailored to student needs, and a challenging, supportive curriculum. Students may have individualized educational programs, such as student-specific study at the university level, and specialized educational programs as needed. Accredited by Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. They are also a certified California non-public school site. |
| Activities: | Hiking, ROPES courses, gardening, skiing, and the cultural arts. |
| Counseling: | Each girl will receive a Mental Health Assessment upon entering Alpine Academy. This assessment will help to drive the individualized treatment plan, as well as familiarize the therapist with the individual’s emotional and behavioral strengths’s and needs. Each young woman will receive an initial Psychiatric Consultation upon admission to Alpine Academy. Additionally, medicinal progress and concerns will be followed by the same Psychiatrist and each girl will have two monthly follow up visits. Provides a comprehensive therapeutic program, utilizing a cognitive-behavioral approach, which also includes individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and psychiatric services. |
| Campus: | Alpine Academy has two facilities: Cedar Hills Campus Located at the base of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains in Cedar Hills, Utah. Alpine Academy is a 4,000 square foot home, located in an upscale rural community. Pine Canyon Campus Located in Pine Canyon, Utah, this 6,500 square foot home is set on a 22 acre ranch. The property is surrounded by the Orche Mountains one one side and The Great Salt Lake on the on the other. There are several horses stabled at this site which are available for equestrian therapy. |
| Family Involvement: | The staff at the Alpine Academy believe that family involvement is vital to the long term success of the child. With this belief, parents are inherently a critical part of the therapeutic process. Families are involved in a weekly therapy session, via the telephone, frequent updates by the therapist, and quarterly family weekends. During the Special Weekends, which happen in the family’s home, families will be involved in family therapy, as well as dyadic therapy, as needed, to address specific family need. The entire family will also have the opportunity to participate in psycho-educational forums. |
