| Description: | At Diamond Ranch Academy our mission is to help youth implement positive, lifelong change. This is done through a system of natural rewards and consequences. As this pattern of life is internalized, self-esteem and emotional growth is achieved and lives are changed. |

| Student Profile: | Diamond Ranch Academy specializes in students who are struggling, but not court adjudicated. The program is an intervention program, and is intended to be applied long before a child enters the judicial system. |
| Academics: | The accredited academic system at DRA has proven effective for teaching students with and without ADD/ADHD. With close support from a licensed teacher-tutor, each student moves effectively through courses. Course credit is not based on time spent in class but on mastery of the subject matter, which maximizes the learning process and the earning of credits |
| Activities: | At Diamond Ranch Academy, we believe that teens benefit most from an environment that supports emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and physical health. Every component is connected to the other components, and each part affects the other parts. As teens improve in one area, the other areas are benefited. Balance in all areas is encouraged, and the youth of Diamond Ranch Academy are supported in their efforts to be “well-rounded”. As part of the setting of Diamond Ranch, we take advantage of every opportunity for the youth to experience caring for small animals. As the youth learn to take responsibility in caring for something living, a therapeutic healing takes place. During this process they learn to forget themselves and serve. |
| Counseling: | Therapy is an integral part of the process of becoming emotionally healthy. With our team of licensed professionals, we offer a very strong therapeutic program for our students. With the Real Life Transitional Program™, however, much of what is traditionally done by a therapist is aided by a more natural setting at Diamond Ranch Academy. The Real Life Transition Program™ is a system of rewards and consequences that takes place in a "real life" setting. We begin with trust and love, in an open rural setting, and build the relationship necessary to help youth change themselves. This unique approach allows teens to live in an environment where they can fully reap all the rewards or consequences of their actions. |
| Campus: | Beautiful two hundred acre facility with green grass, trees and ponds. |
| Family Involvement: | Family workshops and family counseling are an integral part of Diamond Ranch's program. |
| Length of Stay: | The program is a minimum of eight months. We have chosen to forgo pressure, intimidation and manipulation, therefore, it takes that long for the lessons to be truly learned and internalized. Because each youth is unique, it is possible that additional time may be needed in order to graduate from the program. |
