Dimple Dell Canyon uses trauma certified therapists to implement the Trauma Track based on research and data from National Institute of Mental Health and America Psychiatric Association. The Vista Treatment Program successfully treats the following psychological challenges: -Depression / Dysthmia -Trauma -Disordered Eating -Attachment Issues -Substance Abuse -Non-verbal Learning Disorders -Self-harm Behaviors -Physical, Emotional, Sexual Abuse -Bipolar Disorder -Oppositional Defiant Disorder -Anxiety / Panic Disorder -Borderline Personality Traits Vista Therapy is conducted with our full-time, in-house staff. Your child participates in over 17+ hours of therapy per week, in addition to weekly meetings with our full time psychiatrist. A breakdown of therapy hours is shown below. -2 hours group therapy per day -1 Family Therapy session per week -1 Individual Therapy per week -1 session with Psychiatrist per week -1 hour Individual Trauma Track session (if applicable) -2 Dialectical Skills Training groups per week (learning/generalization) Vista Treatment Center uses 3 proven therapy techniques described below. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy is an empirically supported treatment approach that has been proven effective with challenging populations such as ours. DBT is the treatment of choice for borderline personality disorder and has the utility to be adapted to treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral conditions. DBT is also an effective tool in reducing behavioral antecedents that often lead to potentially serious acting out behaviors and significantly reduces acuity levels in residential settings. DBT treats both the client and therapist to maximize quality of life and post-treatment outcomes. Dialectical skills training serves to replace skill deficits with skillful responding and empowerment in the following areas -Core Mindfulness -Emotion Regulation -Interpersonal Effectivness -Distress Tolerance Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Cognitive Behavior Therapy is designed to help your child discover errors in their thinking. It helps them recognize how they distort information in order to place blame for their actions. C.B.T. teaches your child to analyze how their thoughts and emotions translate to behavior. Motivational Interviewing (MI) Motivational Interviewing is a technique used to help a client look at what they say. In essence, “as I speak, I learn what I believe.” M.I. removes an authority figure and places complete accountability on the child. Motivational Interviewing is ideal for adolescents who resist authority, have addictions, or do not want to change. M.I. Therapists roll with the clients resistance and allow them to access their current position, and formulate positive steps to change behavior. Vista Clinical Services have earned accolades within the medical community, however, the Vista Program goes beyond traditional therapy. Vista Milieu therapy is 24/7. It is based on an environment that fosters close relationships with therapists and other students, outside the clinical setting. |
