J Bar J specializes in work with youth who have a chronic criminal history in the community and problems at home. Our program offers an alternative to placement at state institutional facilities. | Academics: | Located on the campus of the J Bar J Boys Ranch is the the Learning center. The mission of the program is to provide alternative learning opportunities to meet the unique needs of the students in order to enhance positive behavioral and academic skills, promoting learning, goal setting and confidence building that will prepare students for transition to, and subsequent success in their next learning environment |
| Philosophy: | Our program stresses individual accountability and personal growth. We assist youthful offenders by helping them to understand the origins of their irresponsible behavior, and providing mechanisms for them to learn to "view the world rationally" and permanently discontinue their hurtful behaviors. The highly structured environment balances both social and academic performance. We offer an accredited on-campus school whose goal is the success of each resident in the public school system. Treatment duration averages nine – twelve months. |
