| Description: | Chrysalis is a program for troubled girls ages 14 to 18 who need a special blend of care, therapy, a stable home environment and a gentle firmness to recover from a past of pain, sorrow, untenable family situations, personal mistakes and self-destructive behavior. Girls may participate in cultural travels during summer sessions and school breaks. Our teachers tailor academics to the individual’s abilities and needs using both a home school curriculum through North Dakota State and our local public high school when girls are developmentally prepared for that transition. |

| Campus: | Residents live “family-style” in large log houses, hold each other accountable for actions, and become responsible for themselves. Regular group therapy sessions called “circle” reinforce these ideas of individual responsibility and group support. Outdoor challenges, wilderness adventures and excursions serve as tools to assist residents to learn about their strengths and style of learning, ability to master work, and ability to act as a member of a team. The program is physically active, incorporating horseback riding, downhill and cross-country skiing, rafting, biking, kayaking, climbing and cultural travel.
