The Eating Disorders Program provides specialized treatment for male and female patients suffering from anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, or other compulsive behaviors linked to eating disorders. Sierra Tucson effectively treats co-occurring disorders, including addictions, trauma and abuse, depression, and a wide range of mental/behavioral disorders. The Sierra Model(r) of treatment recognizes that all of us exist as mind, body, spirit, and emotions, and it is only when all of these facets are cared for and balanced that we can expect to lead healthy lives. A bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach provides individualized treatment for healing the whole person. Sierra Tucson's Eating Disorders Program addresses the total scope of the eating disorder including body image, medical complications, and the chronic nature of eating disorders. Our treatment model has a strong focus on experiential work, shame reduction, understanding the basic disease concept, family issues, recovery through the 12 Steps, and developing a balanced fitness program. Emphasis is on non-judgmental and non-blaming therapy designed to assist the individual in breaking through denial while experiencing acceptance and guidance. Professional and caring staff include medical doctors, physician's assistants, psychiatrists, certified addiction specialists, psychologists, master's-level therapists, registered nurses, registered dietitians, and fitness specialists.
