| Academics: | Our Academic Achievement Program provides for a year-round, individually paced curriculum. The basis of our academic program is a nationally recognized and accredited On-Line education system. At the same time we have full and part-time licensed educators to enhance the student’s learning process. We work with each student, their parents and their hometown school to design an individual academic program that will move the student towards academic progress and success. |
| Activities: | Your son’s daily schedule will be broken up into five parts. The first part is the normal time for eating, sleeping, and personal hygiene. Second are chores such as cleaning, helping and learning to cook, outdoor work, etc. The third part is the academic school work. Fourth is the emotional healing work, including group and individual coaching and counseling, and the Tai Yi energy work. And fifth are the recreational activities such as obstacle courses, sports, hiking, fishing, inside games, creative endeavors, and occasional field trips. |
| Counseling: | Our Emotional Wellness Program is formulated to assist each student to not just change their behavior in order to meet their parent’s or society’s standards, but rather to create that change for themselves in order to live a joyful and productive life. We employ many different teaching and change modalities: Individual and group coaching, therapeutic counseling, and special energy work. We also provide a structured and nurturing environment within a beautiful setting where nature itself becomes a teacher. We use and encourage the principles of natural nutrition and a balanced life style. When each boy returns home they are offered on-going coaching to assist them to continue integrating the tools they have learned. |
| Campus: | Our facility is located on 80 plus acres in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. This beautiful mountain setting overlooks a large lake with Pikes Peak as a backdrop. Nature surrounds us and we use nature as a teacher to both challenge the boys and to respect and value nature. The building that houses the boys has four large bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen and dining facility and two large meeting rooms used for academic classes and gatherings. Each of the bedrooms will house between 2 and 4 boys each. The residence provides a safe, secure and simple atmosphere which encourages group interaction and the building of positive peer relationships. The entire facility promotes the learning and healing agenda that is the focus of Eagle’s Nest School for Boys. While we encourage a ‘family’ like atmosphere we do have a security system which notifies us of any student attempting to leave the premises without permission. This is merely one part of our effort to ensure the safety of all of our students. We have a maximum of 24 students. |

| Philosophy: | In our long experience we have come to know that attempting to correct behavior deemed unacceptable to parents, families and society, through forced behavioral modification techniques is almost always successful only for the short term. Changing any pattern of behavior is difficult. This is made more so when only the outward behavior is dealt with. In order for any change in behavioral patterns to be successful a deeper and more thorough process must be undertaken. |

| Specialties: | In order for true change in behavior patterns to take place the source of those patterns must be identified and healed. Using both coaching and therapeutic counseling we assist each boy to identify and heal emotional wounds which typically are the original cause of these patterns. Once this is done a person can more easily choose to let go of these patterns permanently. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that the human body has a sophisticated electrical energy system and that all behavioral patterns form their own specific energetic pathways within this electrical system. In other words we create our own “circuit board” AND each negative behavior pattern has its own energetic pattern which, if not altered or eliminated, will always influence a person to return to the old behavior in some form or another. [This is the main reason why most teens who have been in other programs have difficulty with old behaviors when they return home.] While new to western cultures this wisdom, and its non-invasive techniques to alter and unblock these energy circuits, has been known in the Chinese culture for thousands of years. These techniques are much like how acupuncture can assist the physical body, yet without the needles. The Chinese name for this work is Tai Yi, the Western name is Life Energy Flow. The use of these techniques by those trained in this ancient Chinese work is an important aspect to the overall outcome of Eagle’s Nest School. Therefore, a combination of coaching and therapeutic counseling is used to find and heal the source of behavioral patterns and Tai Yi energy work is used to change and clear the blocks of the “energetic circuit board.” The outcome is one of a much deeper and long-lasting change in the behavior at a much faster pace. Once the student is successful at creating this change they can then be taught how to follow their own natural and innate heart felt path to success and joyful living. |
