Traditional Boarding Schools
Troubled teenagers come to therapeutic boarding schools from a broad spectrum of family backgrounds, at different stages of development, awareness and pain.
Most therapeutic boarding schools offer individual counseling, under the supervision of a licensed therapist, to addresses emotional, behavioral and educational issues to help students overcome emotional scars.
Some therapeutic boarding schools offer group therapy which is conducted by a qualified counselor, staff, and/or trained volunteers who discuss issues of substance abuse, self-esteem, communication, co-dependent relationships, decision-making, social etiquette, and more.
Work Therapy is also offered at therapeutic boarding schools to develop effective work ethics and build self-esteem. Students learn to be accountable and responsible for household chores, clerical responsibilities and more.
