A Therapeutic year round boarding school. There are 25 students.

Interviews are required for all admission candidates and should be scheduled well in advance. Enrollment for your son or daughter can take place at any time during the year. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday.

Bright, creative, and often manipulative. Sometimes depressed and almost always angry, they exhibit oppositional behavior and may be engaged in active addictions.

The academic calendar runs from September to June and is divided into four sections with a January term for make-up work and special courses.

Wilderness adventures, international travel, theater productions, and courses in the culinary arts

Are assigned a therapist, whom they initially see twice a week for the first month. Once a Therapeutic alliance is established, individual therapy sessions continue weekly, and are available more frequently when necessary.

The center of our campus is a beautiful nineteenth-century mansion that houses co-ed dormitories, offices, and meeting rooms. Three other buildings provide both single sex and co-ed housing for students. Each dormitory is supervised by residential staff on a twenty-four hour basis and typically houses ten to fifteen students. The number of students per room varies from two to five.

All parents, step parents, and significant others, are required to participate in one of DeSisto's regional parent groups located throughout the country.

Character building, academics, and emotional and spiritual growth, come together at DeSisto to provide students with a holistic approach to education

Residential staff are required to make a two-year commitment to the school. Staff are required to receive and successfully complete training in CPR, first aid, medication certification, and crisis prevention and intervention

A group of our young women recently biked the Continental Divide, and were featured in a documentary film narrated by Academy Award-winner Susan Sarandon.
