The Rocky Mountain Semester (RMS) is a semester long academic and wilderness program for academically motivated juniors in high school from all over the country. The RMS curriculum focuses on students’ connections to the natural world, community and leadership skills, and rigorous academics. The semester is divided between the HMI campus in Leadville, Colorado and six weeks of wilderness expeditions in Colorado and Utah. Students receive academic credit for the semester through their home schools. College graduates: The RMS Apprentice Program provides a hands-on learning and teaching experience.
